Practical fitting questions
Mobile Tyre Fitting FAQ
Check what to have ready, what mobile fitting can include and when roadside work may not be possible. For emergency tyre fitting, call first.
Tyres and repairs
When can a puncture be repaired?
A puncture within the repairable tread area may be suitable, depending on its size, location and the tyre's condition. The tyre needs removing for inspection. Sidewall damage, bulges and internal damage can require replacement.
Where is the tyre size?
Look at the sidewall for a marking such as 205/55 R16, followed by load and speed ratings. This is a size example, not a recommendation. The handbook or a registration lookup can help, but confirm the fitted specification. Only inspect it where safe.
What is normally involved in replacement?
The old tyre is removed, the wheel and new tyre checked, and the new tyre fitted and balanced. Valve requirements and disposal should be agreed in the quote. Ask the responding fitter about TPMS parts and specialist equipment.
What if my locking wheel nut key is missing?
Tell us before booking. Removal requires suitable equipment and may cost extra. Ask whether the fitter can remove your type of locking nut.
Can you fit van or run-flat tyres?
Provide the tyre size, load rating and vehicle details. Tell the fitter about run-flat tyres or specialist vehicle requirements. Availability must be confirmed for your vehicle.
Appointments and roadside help
Can you fit at my workplace?
Ask permission and arrange suitable ground, van access, keys and a site contact. The fitter needs room to lift and work around the vehicle safely.
Will a new tyre fix wheel damage?
Not necessarily. A bent or cracked wheel can need workshop repair or replacement. Tell us about wheel damage so the fitter can assess what is possible.
What should I do while waiting?
Use hazard lights after a breakdown and stay clear of traffic. Leave the vehicle only if safe. On a motorway, follow highways or emergency-service instructions; if trapped in a live lane or unable to reach safety, stay belted in and call 999.
Can I drive on a temporary spare?
Follow the speed, distance and loading limits printed on the spare and specified in your handbook. A temporary spare is not a permanent replacement.
How do I book emergency or out-of-hours work?
Call 01952 794151. We confirm tyre availability, the location, price and arrival estimate before booking. The fitter confirms operating hours and callout arrangements.
